 e Award. Engstrom served as Deputy Director of the NSA from 1957-1958.  He
  was a technical  leader in the Navy’s cryptologic work in World War II an
 d continued his participation in many roles after the war. He was also awa
 rded the Order of the British Empire. Along with William Norris and others
  he founded Engineering Research Associates in 1946. He was also one of th
